En marxa el procés per habilitar el nou recinte de Fira de Lleida

Today the bases of the competition for the drafting of the preliminary project of the new venue are published, which will include the reorganization of the space and the Fira Zero pavilion project

The European Union Website published today, Friday, the bases of the competition for the drafting of the preliminary project of the new Fira de Lleida venue, and thereby gives the official starting signal to the project aimed at enabling a fairground space of 116,000 m2 larger, versatile and multifunctional, which will have a significant economic impact and generate employment for the city. The competition for the drafting of the preliminary project of the new Fira de Lleida venue will include the elaboration of the preliminary project, the basic project and the execution project, and the management of works of the Zero Pavilion or reception pavilion—the first to be built—of the fairground.

The deadline for submitting proposals to the call, a restricted competition with a jury promoted by the Fundació La Fira de Lleida and addressed to architectural firms in general, is 12:00 h on 13 July.

The future fairground, located on the site of the former Hípica de Lleida, will have an area of 116,000 m2 (which will represent a 43% increase in space compared to the current one) and will stand out for its great versatility, since in addition to the exhibitions it will be able to host varied activities of a popular, festive, sports or cultural nature. Furthermore, it will have a more direct link with La Llotja-Palau de Congressos de Lleida, which will facilitate the holding of business events in which both spaces are used.

It should be noted that the new fairground will house 5 pavilions of 5,000 m2 and the current removable pavilion, which will represent in total more than 27,000 m2 of covered space, in addition to underground car parks located below the buildings. Moreover, the complex will optimize the aesthetics of the left bank of the Segre River and will harmoniously integrate other elements such as the Seròs Canal.
