With a surface area of 116,000 m² —about 35,000 m² more than the current one—, the new venue will be characterized by versatility and cutting-edge technology, and will have greater capacity to host events in different formats.

Project status

A process already underway

These are the stages that have brought the new fairground project to the preliminary project competition call.

  1. May 2026 · Project presentation

    The Board of the Fundació presents the new fairground project, designed to consolidate Lleida as the second fair capital of Catalonia, with cutting-edge technology and greater capacity to host events in different formats.

  2. June 2026 · New general director

    Eduard Martín Lineros, computer engineer expert in technological innovation and management in the public sphere, takes on the role of general director and sets consolidation, expansion and internationalization as key axes.

  3. 17 June 2026 · Publication of the rules

    The European Union website publishes the rules of the competition for the drafting of the preliminary project of the new venue, which will include the reorganization of the space and the project of the «Fira Zero» pavilion.

  4. Restricted competition with jury

    The call, promoted by Fundació La Fira de Lleida, is aimed at architecture firms and is resolved through a restricted competition with jury.
